Parking Discussion - ON and OFF LINE!

Okay folks - I crack up at the level of discussion about this blog that happens off line and in our community face to face!  Whoever said the Internet was always anonymous!!!

Let's get the discussion going on here so we can solicit feedback from Kroger.  There's no question that everyone in the Greater Fort Mitchell area is asking the question:  Will there be enough parking?  I keep saying, Sure, Kroger is a big boy who knows codes, needs and how to be good to us, the customer.  But, I'm with everyone on this.  There does not seem to be enough room for parking.

Thoughts?  Comments?  Arguments?  Frustrations?

By the way, who else has a family that has not been eating well balanced meals on a regular basis due to lack of grocery shopping?  Please say I'm not alone.  I do have some house renovation going on (by the best contractor ever I might add!).  So, it's tough to seek out groceries when I don't have a kitchen to work with, but life would have been easier with Kroger on board.

Sorry about the stray, but grocery shopping and the lack of Kroger has had a major impact on my life and I'm assuming yours as well.  Right Anisa!

So, read, comment and solicit feedback from Corporate.  We want answers . .  and more importantly, we want our Kroger back up and running.

Running on empty,
Suzanne

  1. Ok, where is everyone settled on shopping? I've been going across the river.

Been shopping at Whole Foods. Weekends not the best days to go there. Sundays are crazy and last Friday was a wine and dine.

  2. I went to the Kroger in Latonia which looked like a motorized shopping cart bumper cart rally! Deli was a war zone, produce people were ogeling the customers, overheard a customer asking an employee where the cream was and the employee didn't know, (pssst good thing dairy aisle wasn't a snake) we were standing right next to it. Encountered the many women with coupon aisle blocks and the occasional family in 5 alarm distress, but I liked the lay out. The check out clerk was Natalie who played ball with Katie as a yout down at the Turners Coliseum, which was a nice take home. Can't wait till the drive thru grocery in the FM is complete, I plan on parking, nevermind, I'll get one of those kitchy grocery basket deals at Pilot and park on Woodlawn. Until the Grand Opening in what I here might be Halloween now, BOO!

  3. I have bounced around a lot. I can't get everything at Whole Foods and I end up buying a seven dollar magazine and toothpaste no one will use and I still have to get Diet Coke. I mostly go to the kroger on 18 when I am well organized enough to do it. We are hooked on Boars Head and that is one of the few places to find it. I end up at Remke a lot because I don't want to drive so much.

There were lots of empty parking spaces before and a many used for school parking, so it seems to me that even if there are fewer spots there should be plenty for the store. For the school and for picking kids up, that seems a little more iffy.

  4. How about ordering in? Just a thought from someone in Los Angeles...

  5. I've gone to the beechmont Kroger and parking seems just as tight and it is always total chaos parking there. It should be interesting to see what they come up with. Hopefully that store taught them something.

  6. Best kroger is the one in newport. Quick zip across river, back across big mac bridge. Great selection.....lots of parking. May not switch back!!! But if you want good meat or seafood....hands down the only option is Fresh Market or Findley Market.

  7. I agree with the comments that the best Kroger is the one in Newport - and it has plenty of parking. Love the "order in" mentality from LA, but this is the midwest! The feedback about Latonia was intersting - sounded like a unique shopping experience!

In all honesty, with school getting ready to commence and work busy and then soccer and flag football about to begin, I need convenience, good prices and the selection I want - and I guess we won't have it until Halloween or thereafter. Stay tuned . . .

  8. Is the Halloween opening a possibility!?!? My soul dies a little bit every time I shop at (gulp) Wal-Mart, but my bank acount screams everytime I shop at Rempke. My sister claims Latonia is OK, but I've yet to investigate.

Onto the parking... it does seem VERY limited for such a big store. I've also heard they're putting in gas pumps? If so, even less parking. Yikes. Stuill can't wait till I can kroger in FM again.
